For Laura and any other Hanson fan out there, here's my account blow by blow of last night... and this morning... Its in two parts: before they went on, and then during and after.
Right after class yesterday me and KK got the heck out of town right on time: 12:30. Go us. We made amazing time. The whole way to Midlothian we listened to Hanson, except for a slight Salsa Commodity break through Glen Rose. Although the concert was what I was giddy about, I couldn't seem to think about anything other than how I was going to get that CD to someone once I was inside... I came up with all these weird ideas... in fact I think I actually said that I could always aim for Isaac's temple when I throw the CD case and maybe it would kill him and Salsa would become famous because of all the exposure they'd get for being on the news. I told Sanders this idea and he said they may name their next album "Death to Isaac." HAH. That's great fun, but I dolove Isaac, to disclaim.
Anyways, I realized that Taylor's voice is so freaking gorgeous, and that if his voice materialized into a person, it would be the most freaking sexy person in the world. And I love Crazy Beautiful, which he sings. I think that song is really... hot.. and now I know why. It's because a hot guy with a freaking hot voice is singing it. Then KK introduced me to the song Hand in Hand... Omigosh... I think I almost died. Isaac's voice, although if it were to bematerialized would not behalf as sexy as Taylor's, was perfect for the mood of that song. I got all consumed by it and then... I said something like..."That was an orgasm in song form!" I was in a major lusting mood. Thankfully, KK's mom got us chocolate chip cheesecake, so I was able to settle down before I got the concert.
When we got into town we went to Lucas' apartment. They live right across the street from Josh, no joke. And I never knew that. They also have a dog. Samantha Lula Bell McComb. Awe, I wonder who named her. Anyways, after some Lion King and a call to Josh we headed over to Sanders'. He printed out the cover stuff for the CD and put it in the case all pretty-like. Alright, pressure is on. Only one pretty copy of the CD. One chance to infiltrate the system... crap. Well, we hung out there for a while. Sanders is great to hang out with. He's so funny. I need to seriously listen to Muse with him so he can tell me the names of all the songs I am confused about. His sister is super hilarious too. Colleen. Heh, he ripped the newest Hanson CD onto his computer. I hope he's enjoyed listening to it.
So then we headed back to the house to eat. Spaghetti. It was really good. And cheesecake. Needless to say that rocked my world. Then we headed out to meet Ashlie in Cedar Hill. When she got in the car we threw our "The Music Lives" shirt ather so she could wear one like us, and then we were off. We listened to some old school Hanson. I like that one song... the one where they go so high I can't even sing along with it anymore... 1,440 Hours in My Day or something to that affect. When we arrived at the venue, Mmmbop was playing and so I rolled the window down to embarrass KK, which was a lot easier than I thought it would be since we WERE going to a Hanson concert anyways...
So we park and I am all jittery... not because of the concert, but because of this CD that I have clutched in my hand. Ashlie even offers to put it in her purse, I say NO! I have to carry it. We walk a little ways (we've parked near the back because I know we'll end up at the fence after the show much like at the Dashboard concert.) While we're walking up, I notice the gates are open and some people are playing basket ball in the lot. So I run over... maybe Hanson would be out there? Turns out that they had just gone in... they WERE out there but I was stupid and hesitated. I think I wanted to throw up... There went a perfectly awesome chance... I mean... they were right there and the gates were open. Course, they had fans all gathered around bothering them, but at least I would have given him something cool (the CD), rather than asking for him to give me something...
So we enter and go inside to see this dude, Michael... Totcher? His guitarist, William Duvall was FREAKING AMAZING! He rocked my socks. He was amazing, I only saw him for about... 5 minutes. This is him. He is so great! I got to shake his hand and tell him how great he was. He was just chilling behind the tables where people were buying shirts and stuff and I leaned over and said, "Can I just shake your hand. You are the most amazing guitarist I have ever seen!" He got all blushy. It was kinda funny!
Anyways, theMichael guy is like "Hey come see me back there...*points to lobby*" I was all sitting there still wondering what I should do about the Cd thing... then Ashlie says, "Hey, don't you think that he would be more open to taking your CD since he is just getting started?" *BLINK* Good idea. So I tear out of the auditorium and I follow the poor sweaty guy to a table where a bunch of stupid Hanson fans ask him questions about Hanson, and he graciously signs autographs anyways. I waited to the side. I figure I would wait until all the idiots leave so I could just talk to him straight up. I guess in this case it was a good thing that I am loud and people could easily over hear me. Because as I was talking about the CD, still with the death clutch upon it in my hands, this guy also leaning on the wall next to me overheard me. "I work for him *points* if you want me to give it to him. " *BLINK* "Really?" So we talk a bit and he ends up telling me that they get a lot of demos and stuff and that they always listen to everything they are given. I made him promise me, that since I only had this one copy, that they would listen to every song on the CD. He promised. Then I made him PINKY-PROMISE, because you can't break that, and he pinky-promised. So I handed him the CD and told him the best ones to listen to, but reminded him that he DID just pinky-promise to listen to the whole CD. As he marked my suggestions he said, "We have an 11 hour drive to Orlando tonight. I think we'll be able to listen to it all." SQUEEE!
I was so proud. I pulled off KK's idea with help from Ashlie. And the boys will be heard!!!!!!! I called Sanders right after that. I could have left the building then and been happy. (Glad I didn't though.) We stayed out in the lobby all the way through Ingram Hill. I kept looking over at Wally, the guy who took the CD, because he had stuck it in his back pocket and I was afraid he would drop it... I kept telling the girls we should follow him and make sure he doesn't drop it. They said shut up. Luckily we stayed out there long enough for me to be satisfied that he wouldn't lose the CD and then we went back to our seats at about 8:50. Next, Hanson takes the stage...
But first, English class, BRB.
